Oct 31, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. China's papermaking capacity during the first eight months of 2007 increased some 16.2% over the same period last year, according to ChinaPaper Online.
From January-August 2007, Chinese mills produced 49.8 million metric tonnes of paper and paperboard. For the same period, total export of paper and paperboard was 2.6 million metric tonnes, down by 5.75%, from 2006 figures.
Meanwhile, imports of pulp climbed 5.0% with 5.7 million metric tonnes entering the country from January-August 2007.
