Gascogne Wood Products plans to cut jobs in the Aquitaine region, France

Apr 08, 2013. /Lesprom Network/. Gascogne Wood Products, a Gascogne group subsidiary, specialised in wood conversion, presented to its works council, a project of reorganisation of part of its planing and finishing activities, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.

Through this project, the company, which has 6 industrial sites in the Aquitaine region, intends to adapt its production capacity due to adverse changes in some of its markets, particularly the market for interior decoration.

As such, the company is considering the reduction of 13 headcount on the Castets site and 10 positions on the Marmande site.

Voluntary leave measures will be implemented for these 23 positions. In addition, given internal redeployment opportunities within the Group, the Company will seek to minimize the social impact of these measures.

Gascogne group is the only French player fully integrated throughout the entire chain of the wood-paper-conversion sector. It has four complementary divisions: Gascogne produces wood products, natural machine glazed kraft paper, industrial and consumer sacks and laminates for packaging and protection applications.
