International Paper to Help China Develop Steady Forestry Management

International Paper (IP, USA), world’s leader in paper and timber-processing products manufacture, signed an agreement of cooperation with China State Forest Administration, SFA. Under the agreement IP will provide resources for steady forestry management development in China, Lesprom.ru learned from the corporate press-release. The agreement will remain valid for 3 years and will contribute to the exchange of ideas and experts on forestry management between IP ad SFA, which is expected to improve China’s forestry resources and reduce the number of deserted lands, IP press-release says. In line with the program of cooperation, IP will assist SFA in the training of specialists and in the designing of forestry management policies. IP will also design the regulations of commercial forestries’ management, integrated in the national timber industry. The exchange of specialists envisages the forestry management staff training in the USA and in Brazil. IP will share its own experience in forestry management. IP will also study the possibilities to provide long-term pulp supplies to China. ‘Forestry development has reached a very important stage and we are pleased to share our experts’ experience in forestry management, who know how to direct forestry management in order to reach efficient paper, package and timber-processing products manufacture which are of high daily demand worldwide.’ IP CEO and chairman of the board John Faraci said.
