BRC/IoP is a globally recognised standard for all types of food packaging and the highest seal of quality in this sector to date.
Klingele optimised numerous internal processes and made major investments for the BRC certification, including new ventilation concepts for its production halls. Certification of the Delmenhorst and Hilpoltstein plants was obtained in June 2014; the factory in Werne and the subsidiary Klingele Golfkarton already obtained the award in 2013 (Werne) and 2012 (Golfkarton).
However, Klingele is now also implementing uniform quality standards in other areas given the increase in the number of cross-company customer orders that are being processed. Therefore, all corrugated cardboard plants and paper mills in the group have a quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001 and FSC certification designating the use of wood products – paper in this case – from sustainable forest management. All corrugated cardboard plants will also introduce an energy management system (ISO 50001) by autumn of this year and an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 by the middle of 2015.
