Millar Western’s Craig Armstrong elected to SFI Board of Directors

Dec 24, 2014. /Lesprom Network/.  Millar Western President and CEO Craig Armstrong is one of three new directors recently elected to the Board of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® Inc. (SFI). Also joining the board at this time are Robert Abernethy, President of the Longleaf Alliance, and Gail Wallin, Co-Chair of the Canadian Council on Invasive Species, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

SFI Inc. President and CEO Kathy Abusow said, “We are so pleased to welcome Craig, Robert and Gail to the SFI Board. Given their tremendous expertise, they will help SFI further enhance the vital link between healthy forests, responsible purchasing, and sustainable communities.”

Craig Armstrong will serve on the board’s economic chamber. “I have a strong interest in linking sustainable forestry practices with responsible market choices that have a positive impact on forests and communities,” said Armstrong. “Serving on the SFI Board is a great opportunity to explore market-based approaches to improved environmental, economic and social outcomes.”
