Alberta Forest Products Association appointed Paul Whittaker as President and CEO

May 23, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. The Board of Directors of the Alberta Forest Products Association (AFPA) appoints Paul Whittaker to the position of President and CEO, effective June 2, 2014, as AFPA said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

A highly experienced and well-regarded civil servant, Whittaker brings to the Association an extensive background in issues management, strategic planning and policy development. In his 31 year career with the Government of Alberta, Whittaker held progressively senior roles including his most recent positions as Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs and President of the Alberta Housing Corporation. During that time, he also garnered management experience in international and intergovernmental relations, trade policy and Aboriginal relations.

In making the announcement, Board of Directors Chair Craig Armstrong stated, "Our AFPA Board, staff and member companies are extremely pleased to welcome a leader of Paul's stature and experience to the role. We are confident Paul's executive management skills, analytical strengths and strategic planning abilities will serve the Association well in the year's ahead."
