Amazonas Florestal enters into strategic milling alliance

Aug 05, 2013. /Lesprom Network/. Amazonas Florestal, Ltd. has secured a milling-for-service deal that satisfies both its financial and geographic criteria. Estimated to handle about 800 cubic metres of logs per month, the mill has passed all inspections and is capable of producing the high-quality products that the Company needs to fulfill its recent $2,640,000 purchase order for Trackwork Ltd, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Logistically, the mill is efficiently situated, as the supply of logs can be delivered by road from the harvest site to the mill and from mill to port. The mill provides land on-site to store all inventories that the Company will require, including space under-roof to lay out large quantities for quality control inspection.

“As part of this deal,” said Michael Ibar, CEO of Amazonas, “we’ll oversee all production and quality control of the sleepers, but we will take legal possession post-production, ensuring maximum quality and minimal risk for the Company. We’re excited about this arrangement, not only because it helps us to fulfill our approximately 4,000 cubic metres of finished product to Trackwork but also because this alliance will enable us to fulfill larger and more diverse orders in the immediate future.”

Amazonas Florestal is a diversified forest management company generating profit through innovative, sustainable management of its large tracts of land in the rainforests of Amazonas, Brazil.
