International technology Group Andritz has received an order from Cartulinas CMPC S.A. to upgrade the complete bleaching system at its mill in Maule, Chile, which processes 100% radiata pine for the production of softwood BTMP (bleached thermo-mechanical pulp). Start-up of the upgraded bleaching system is scheduled for the 4Q 2017, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
The bleaching system upgrade by Andritz will lead to an increase in BTMP production from 30 to 37 admt/h, while at the same time substantially reducing energy consumption per ton of pulp produced.
