BID Group to deliver equipment to Georgia-Pacific's lumber facility in Talladega, Alabama

The BID Group was selected by Georgia-Pacific to deliver a state-of- the-art turnkey lumber facility in Talladega, Alabama. Construction will begin in October 2017 with the mill scheduled to be up and running in September 2018, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Powered by Comact, DelTech, Miller and MoCo products, the successful execution of the project will require the combined efforts of BID Group’s facilities throughout North America. Located at their former plywood plant, the Talladega facility will be Georgia Pacific’s first new lumber mill in the South.

The Talladega lumber facility will feature state-of- the-art technologies specifically designed, supplied, and installed by the BID Group including a Comact optimized log bucking system, a Comact saw line with profiling systems, feeding a fully- automated lumber handling outfeed line and MoCo sticker stacker.

The planer mill will be equipped with the all-new Miller high speed planer, a Comact GradExpertTM and a fully-automated lumber outfeed and package maker. Lumber drying will utilize DelTech DPK continuous kiln technology provided through two dual path kilns.

BID Group is one of the only integrated companies in North America. With a diverse line of sawmill equipment, BID offers a wide range of products.
