Year-to-date, woodbased panel imports totalled 453,000 cubic metres, a 40% decline compared with the same period in 2013.
Exports of tropical sawnwood dropped from 174,700 cubic metres between January and June 2013 to 160,200 cubic metres in the first half of this year, a 9% decline.
Tropical sawnwood imports fell 45% in the first half of 2014 compared to the same period of 2013, (14,000 cubic metres in 2013 to 9,700 cubic metres in 2014).
