For the eleven months of 2014, exports revenues from pulp, wood panels and paper totaled $6.8 billion, which represents a 1.9% increase year-over-year, compared to $6.6 billion in total revenues in 2013. The industry’s balance of trade from January through November is $5.1 billion, equal to a 3.9% increase of the balance compared to the same period last year. Pulp sales to China, the second largest market for this Brazilian product, totaled $1.6 billion, a 12.8% increase compared to 2013.
2014 YTD pulp production reached 15 million tons, having increased 8.7% year-over-year, when 13.8 million tons were produced. Wood panel production was 7.3 million cubic metres, a 1.1% increase compared to the same period last year. In relation to the paper segment, production from January through November totaled 9.5 million tons, 0.4% lower than to the same period in 2013.
From January to November 2014, pulp sales in the domestic market increased 5.1% year-over year, totaling 1.7 million tons. Paper and wood panel sales remained practically stable, totaling 5.2 million tons and 6.7 million cubic metres, respectively, November 2014 YTD.
