Canada's lumber production rose 1% from April to 5 981 thousand cubic metres of lumber in May 2018. Production was 2% lower than in May 2017, as Statistics Canada said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
Sawmills shipped 6 252.7 thousand cubic metres of lumber in May, up 7.7% from April and 5.5% higher than in May 2017.
