Lumber production in Canada rose 19.5% in January, with sawmills producing 5 813.4 thousand cubic metres of lumber. Production was 5.2% higher than January 2016, as Statistics Canada said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
In January, sawmills shipped 5 452.0 thousand cubic metres of lumber, up 10.1% from December. Shipments were 2.8% higher than in January 2016.
