Dr Camilla Widmark has been appointed as Head of Office of the EFINORD, the North European Regional Office of the European Forest Institute (EFI). The North European Regional Office of the European Forest Institute – EFINORD – is supported by Natural Resource Institute Finland (LUKE) and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and has its main office in SLU’s premises in Umeå, Sweden.

EFI: Dr Camilla Widmark appointed as new Head of EFINORD

Dr Camilla Widmark has been appointed as Head of Office of the EFINORD, the North European Regional Office of the European Forest Institute (EFI) as of January 2017.

Dr Widmark holds a PhD in economics and specialises in natural resource economics and forest policy. Her previous positions include the Assistant professorship in forest policy at the Department of Forest Economics, Swedish University of Agricultural Science.

Dr Widmark takes an active interest in capacity building and has organised several university courses and supervises both Masters and Doctorate students. She is also coordinating and conducting research within the three-year FP7 ERA-NET Sumforest project POLYFORES: Decision-making Support for Forest Ecosystem Services in Europe.

The North European Regional Office of the European Forest Institute – EFINORD – is supported by Natural Resource Institute Finland (LUKE) and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and has its main office in SLU’s premises in Umeå, Sweden.

EFINORD launched its activities in 2010 and promotes forest research networking within the Nordic-Baltic Sea-North Atlantic region. The Regional Offices are integral parts of the Institute and they implement EFI strategy at regional levels.
