Newark Recycled Paperboard Solutions earns SFI chain-of-custody certification

Mar 08, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. Newark Recycled Paperboard Solutions has achieved Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) chain-of-custody certification at its Newark America and Wisconsin mills located in Fitchburg, MA and Milwaukee, WI, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Through SFI chain-of-custody certification, companies must have a tracking system in place so they can tell customers the percentage of fiber from certified forests, certified sourcing and/or post-consumer recycled content.

“Newark Recycled Paperboard Solutions is proud to display the SFI label on our products,” said Marc Hingsbergen, Corporate Sustainability Director. “It shows we are contributing to the protection of water quality and conservation of wildlife habitat and biodiversity.”

Non-profit SFI is a comprehensive, independent certification program that works with environmental, social and industry partners to improve forest practices in North America and fiber sourcing worldwide.

Newark Recycled Paperboard Solutions is a leader in integrated manufacturing of 100% recycled paperboard and paperboard products in the U.S. and Canada.
