Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc. reported 3Q 2017 net income of $16 million, compared to $22 million in the 3Q 2016. 3Q 2017 sales were $210 million, compared to $207 million in the prior year, an increase of $3 million, or 1%, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
Year-to-date net income was $30 million, compared to $62 million in 2016. Year-to-date sales were $612 million, compared to $638 million in the prior year, a decrease of $26 million, or 4%. The change in net sales was driven by a decline in cellulose specialties sales prices of 5%, as expected, and slightly lower cellulose specialties sales volumes primarily due to the timing of revenue recognition.
