Roseburg Forest Products announces that Attorney Stuart Gray will join the company’s executive team as senior vice president and general counsel, effective Aug. 7, 2017. Gray will play a key role as chief legal counsel and senior advisor on company strategies and their implementation, with direct involvement in complex business transactions and critical contracts.
Gray most recently served as vice president and deputy general counsel for Sears Holdings Corporation in Chicago, where for two years he led the legal teams supporting home services, environmental, merchandising, product safety, regulatory, operations, online and automotive centers.
In his new role, Gray will act as a strategic business partner by providing advice and oversight in numerous areas, including ethics, financial transactions, transparency, and regulatory and governmental changes and compliance. His scope of responsibilities will include environmental compliance; Director of Environmental Affairs Ellen Porter will report directly to him. Gray will assist in this broad scope of legal functions tied to various Roseburg business ventures and operations, while also overseeing the work of outside counsel.
