For the month of December, exports of Southern Pine lumber totaled 58.6 million board feet (MMbf), a jump of 28% above the volume exported during December 2015. December shipments offshore roughly break down as: 32.7 MMbf dressed, 9.6 MMbf rough and 16.3 MMbf treated lumber.

SFPA: Southern pine lumber exports increased by 28% in December

 For the month of December, exports of Southern Pine lumber totaled 58.6 million board feet (MMbf), a jump of 28% above the volume exported during December 2015. December shipments offshore roughly break down as: 32.7 MMbf dressed, 9.6 MMbf rough and 16.3 MMbf treated lumber, as the Southern Forest Products Association says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.


Softwood lumber imports to the U.S. finished 2016 with a volume of 16.7 billion board feet (Bbf), up 23% from 2015. December imports amounted to just over 1.25 Bbf, 6% above December 2015 imports.
