Sep 21, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. Export volumes of Southern Pine (SP) lumber remained steady in July. SP exports to be slightly over 45 million board feet (MMbf) during July 2015. This volume represents a boost of 6% above the same month last year, contributing to a year-to-date increase of 6% when compared with the first seven months of 2014, as the Southern Forest Products Association says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Offshore shipments during July roughly break down as follows: 24.1 MMbf dressed, 8.3 MMbf rough, and 13 MMbf treated lumber.
Like the previous month, softwood lumber imports to the U.S. during July were just over a billion board feet, down 7% from the volume imported during July of 2014. When compared with last year, year-to-date softwood imports remain up 5%.
