“In the comparatively energy-intensive production of cardboard packaging and corrugated board, it is important to consistently reduce the use of energy,” says Managing Director Björn Schumacher. “The Federal Environment Minister has already in the past year honoured our Schwarzenberg plant in the course of our competition for the European EMAS Environmental Protection Prize. The ISO 50001 Certificate was at that time part of the registered environmental management system according to EMAS. By means of the further audits, we have now also had our other German locations certified according to ISO 50001.”
In its certificate of July 2014, the TÜV Rheinland confirms that all audited German locations of Schumacher Packaging comply with the standard ISO 50001:2011: the Ebersdorf central plant, the Ebersdorf production plant, and the plants at Bielefeld, Forchheim, Hauenstein and Sonneberg.
Follow-up audits will be carried out by the TÜV Rheinland in May each year. In the course of the new round of audits in May 2015, the newly-constructed Schumacher Packaging Plant in Greven, which only went into operation in May 2014, will also be included. As the energy-monitoring system, the Schumacher Packaging Group today uses the Energo+ solution from BERG Energie.
ISO 50001 is a worldwide valid standard of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which pursues the objective of supporting companies with systematic energy management.
