Smurfit Kappa presents the new Viscotainer® System at FachPack

Sep 18, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. At FachPack, the annual German trade fair for packaging solutions, Smurfit Kappa will present the Viscotainer®. This bulk packaging solution can be used for any liquid or paste substance other than dangerous goods. The result is a low-cost disposable alternative to plastic containers, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network. Thomas Geisler, Account Manager at Smurfit Kappa West, explains: "Plastic IBCs are rigid, empty containers occupying the same storage space as filled ones, resulting in 1000 litres of ‘air’ in the warehouse. An empty Viscotainer®, on the other hand, lies flat and takes up very little space during transportation and storage.“ The Viscotainer® is also quick and easy to set up. It is simple to fill, and is emptied without bacterial or other contamination, with protection from UV radiation. No return transport and cleaning are needed, and the Viscotainer® has a long service life due to the use of renewable resources. The Viscotainer® is mainly constructed with outer packaging and an octagonal inner ring made from a special cardboard, Linacor®. Linacor® is an extremely strong double-walled board that is not only sealed watertight, but also consists of wet strength paper. Polyethylene liners and additional parts according to the liquid fittings complete the Viscotainer®. We invite you to come and take a closer look at this impressive bulk packaging solution during our demonstration at the Smurfit Kappa stand, Halle 8/Stand 325 at Fachpack. Smurfit Kappa will present its innovative and durable concepts at FachPack 2012 in Nurernberg from 25 - 27 September.
