Sweden’s stock volumes of coniferous sawlogs decreased by 21% in 2Q

Sweden's stock volumes of coniferous sawlogs are estimated to 2.1 million (cubic meter solid volume excluding bark). Compared with the same period last year this is a decline by 21%, as the Swedish Forest Agency said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The total stocks of coniferous sawlogs, pulpwood and wood chips are estimated to 7.3 million cubic meters of June 30, 2017. This is a decrease by 12% compared with the same period last year.

The total stocks of pulpwood amounted to 4.4 million cubic metres, a decline by 8% compared to the 2Q 2016. Though, there were huge regional differences.

Pulpwood stocks were distributed on 65 % of mixed coniferous pulpwood, around 14% of spruce pulpwood and around 21% of broadleaved pulpwood.

The stock volumes of wood chips are estimated to 0.8 million cubic meters. This is a decline by 10%, compared to June 30, 2016.
