The company TEPE Betopan, Turkey, is completing the construction of a new plant for the production of fibre-cement boards. One of basic raw materials used for production of fibre-cement boards is pulped cellulose in water, which needs to have specific properties. In particular, a well-defined consistency and a high degree of refining, whereas it is desirable to avoid excessive shortening of cellulose fibers during refining. TEPE Betopan completes construction of a new plant in Turkey

Jun 30, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. The joint-stock company PAPCEL supplies a line that is capable to provide such a substance, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The incoming raw material for the line is dry cellulose which is pulped in a vertical pulper and then continues through a serial combination of two double-disc refiners. One of the refiners is equipped with a set of high fibrillation effect to achieve high mechanical strength. Both refiners operate in a continuous mode. The line capacity is 1350 kg of dry substance per hour, which means that the line is able to produce up to 30 cubic meters of substance per hour, consistency 4.5 %, whilst achieving the refining degree above 30°SR. However, the line is able to achieve the refining degree above 50°SR.

The advantage of this line is its simplicity, universality and modest investment whilst achieving high effect with a small number of machinery and low requirements for the measurement and control system (the technology is designed with respect to maximum self-regulatory ability of the line and operation of most of the units in the set and constant conditions even during changes in production programme). The line is controlled by a modern control system, which consist of Siemens components. Two large monitors are installed in the control room which allows control of all the machines from one place, clearly shows the entire line on one screen while it allows to easily change and configure various technological parameters according to the actual needs. The line is fully automatic but in situations that are out of common run, it is possible to switch part of the line into manual mode. The entire line can be controlled by one operator. Therefore, this line concept for the pulp meets all the requirements of modern production facility, especially thanks to its compactness, flexibility, low energy consumption and easy operation.
