Oct 03, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. The Expert RA rating agency heightened the ecological rating of Solikamskbumprom (Perm region, Russia) to the ecoА level. Ecological responsibility level of the company is evaluated as sufficiently high and ecological risks are low, agency's press-service reported.
During the last two years OAO Solikamskbumprom has kept on realizing its program of nature-conservative measures and new technologies implementation. That allowed the company to improve ecological compatibility showing of production and to boost the forest exploitation level. For example, since 2003 OAO Solikamskbumprom toughened its logging legality requirements to raw material suppliers. Partial cuts have been gradually embedded in cutting areas, but during 2003-2004 their part has not exceed 7.4%.
The enterprise began preparation for FSC certification of timber land in leasehold forests. OAO Solikamskbumprom has significantly improved ecological management. In September 2005 the company got the international ISO certificate of series 14000. It plans to end the timber land certification in 2006-2007.
