The orders for Italian woodworking machinery in 4Q increased by 23.3%

Feb 24, 2016. /Lesprom Network/. The year 2015 will not be remembered as a season of records, but for the Italian woodworking technology industry the past twelve months were undoubtedly better than expected, as Italian association of woodworking machinery manufacturers Acimall reported.

Orders in the final quarter 2015 cast a new light onto the industry. On the whole, the trend survey by Acimall’s Studies Office on a panel of representative companies indicates 23.3% growth compared to the same period in 2014. There was a clear exploit on the domestic market, with orders up by one third (29.6%), while foreign markets recorded slower expansion at 17%.

Besides year-on-year, figures are really positive also quarter-on-quarter, as growth from the previous quarter (July-September 2015) amounted to 30%, or 7% with seasonal adjustment, i.e. considering the number of working days. This figure is significant because it indicates a consolidation of the growth trend that has been going on since early 2014.

The orders book has extended to 2.8 months of ensured production (versus 2.5 months at the end of 2014), with a 1% variation of prices since January 1st (1.3% in 2014).

Acimall, the Italian woodworking machinery and tools manufacturers’ association, was created in Milan in 1966. Representing the vast majority of industry companies, Acimall is a qualified reference for all national and international institutions that the woodworking machinery industry deals with.
