When UNILIN joined forces with Magnum Parket, a leading Czech flooring brand, earlier this year, the ideal solution presented itself in Magnum’s Vyškov plant. Bringing together Magnum’s world-class expertise in engineered wood flooring manufacturing with UNILIN’s innovative technology opened up a new range of possibilities for both companies.
As a first step in maximizing the return on this partnership, and to meet rising European demand for engineered wood flooring solutions, UNILIN has now completed a multimillion-euro investment in the former Magnum production site in Vyškov.
The revamped production facility is now fully ready to reap the benefits of UNILIN technology.
Carl Plyson, General Manager Wood at UNILIN said: “Several production lines were upgraded and modernized, increasing the plant’s overall efficiency and production capacity. From now on, the site will be capable of producing flooring products with UNILIN’s trademark Uniclic Multifit® click technology. With the addition of surface brushing and the ability to produce lacquered bevels, the Vyškov plant can count on the latest in flooring surface technologies.”
By expanding the production volume in the Czech Republic, UNILIN will be able to offer shorter European supply lines. The available site capacity in Malaysia will be used to further grow mainly in Asia, US, Latin America and Australia. In addition, this expansion will also yield a 75% reduction in the company’s carbon footprint.
UNILIN produces laminate, engineered wood and luxury vinyl flooring under the Quick-Step and Pergo brands, as well as wood-based panels (particle board, MDF), decorative panels, roof systems and insulation boards.
