Valutec appoints Timo Kanerva as new head of the company’s office in St. Petersburg, Russia

Valutec has recruited Timo Kanerva to the management post at Valutec LLC, with registered offices in St. Petersburg, Russia, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Kanerva most recently comes from a position as the President of the Finnish TKM TTT, a manufacturer of cutting tools for the wood and paper industry. He was previously the business area manager at the kiln maker WSAB, which was acquired by Valutec in 2009.

“Timo has extensive experience of working in Russia, but also contributes a great deal with his knowledge of the European sawmill industry as a whole. Together with Timo, we believe we can take another step in the development of the company,” says Robert Larsson, CEO of Valutec.

As the local manager in Russia, his main task will be to continue the work of establishing Valutec as the foremost cooperative partner and supplier of facilities and equipment for timber drying.

“An investment in timber drying equipment is something that contributes to the business at a sawmill for many years and it places especially high demands on us in terms of continuity. We develop our markets with long-term targets in focus and the recruitment of Timo fits us like a glove,” says Robert Larsson.
