Lecta, the second largest European coated woodfree paper-manufacturing group, formed by Condat, Cartiere del Garda and Torraspapel, announces a Euro 60/t price increase on its CWF paper deliveries to continental Europe and GBP 60 (approx.Euro 70)/t to United Kingdom, effective from January 7th, 2009. The paper industry is suffering from extremely hard market conditions and is operating with insufficient margins. A price increase has to be implemented to guarantee long term sustainability of our business and to fulfil the market requirements in terms of quality and service.
