"Matt's addition fills out our talented field staff in the five U.S. regions," said AWC Codes & Regulations Vice President Kenneth Bland, P.E. "He has a keen awareness of building codes and is especially knowledgeable in the value wood products represent as a wise choice for reducing the environmental impacts of building materials."
Sam Francis, who served as AWC's Northeast regional manager for 21 years, will now transition into the position of National Programs Director. In this position, he will participate in domestic building code and standards development activities, while supporting the other staff to ensure broadest recognition of wood products in regulatory and legislative rules.
The American Wood Council (AWC) is the voice of North American wood products manufacturing, representing over 75% of an industry that provides approximately 400,000 men and women with family-wage jobs.
