Andritz to supply high-energy recovery boiler and further environmental technologies for Mondi pulp and paper mills

International technology Group Andritz has received orders to supply a high-energy recovery boiler and further environmental technologies for Mondi pulp and paper mills in Slovakia, Sweden, and the Czech Republic. The orders are part of Mondi’s program to increase energy efficiency and environmental protection, as Andritz said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. For Mondi SCP, Ružomberok, Slovakia, Andritz Pulp & Paper will deliver a high-energy recovery boiler. For the generation of green energy, an energy-rich biomass by-product of pulp production is burnt in the recovery boiler. The new Andritz boiler, which will be one of the most efficient recovery boilers in the world in terms of its power-to-heat ratio, will increase the mill’s electricity production significantly and provide conditions for operation with a minimized amount of fossil fuels. Mondi’s investment is part of an energy efficiency and environmental protection program to make the mill energy self-sufficient and will enable an increase of pulp production. Start-up is scheduled for the end of 2014. For Mondi Dynäs, Sweden, Andritz is to supply a lime kiln and for Mondi Štětí, Czech Republic, key components for PM5 and PM7.
