Catalyst Paper launches BISTRO family of food service papers

Catalyst Paper launches BISTROTM, a diverse line of uncoated food service papers. BISTRO is produced at its FDA-compliant Powell River mill, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Bistro Wax, Bistro Foil and Bistro Bag, the first entrants to its BISTRO line, are specially-designed bleached grades for a variety of food service applications, including wrappers, basket liners, deli papers, and flat and pinch bottom bags. Available in 15 to 40 pound basis weights (lbs. per 3,000 ft2), BISTRO brands are U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) compliant and sustainably produced with available chain-of-custody certification under both the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFCTM) and Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI®) standards.

“We are excited to introduce the BISTRO family to the market, following on the recent commercial launch of LEAP, our lightweight food packaging papers,” says Brian Boland, Vice President, Specialty Papers & New Product Development. “We are confident that BISTRO will satisfy our customer’s stringent product requirements, and that our industry-leading support team will exceed their service expectations.”

Catalyst Paper manufactures diverse papers such as coated freesheet, coated one side (C1S), flexible and industrial packaging, food service, coated and uncoated groundwood, newsprint, directory, as well as market pulp.
