Dieffenbacher reports turnover of Euro 400 million in 2012

Feb 05, 2013. /Lesprom Network/. Dieffenbacher's annual turnover increased to more than Euro 400 million — an increase of more than Euro 50 million compared with the previous year. Last year also saw the installation or acceptance of 17 new plants, and the company's net assets grew to Euro 70 million, reaching an equity ratio of well over 30% — an exceptional result for the plant construction sector, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. With orders worth Euro 700 million in the Wood-Based Panel and Forming divisions, all key areas of the company are secure until 2014. 2012 was a satisfactory year for the Wood-Based Panel division, with total orders of Euro 300 million. Although the first half of the year was weak, with no significant projects put out to tender, the second half of the year was much stronger, and Dieffenbacher was successful in its bids for a considerable amount of the work available on the market. Both of the wood product plant contracts put out to tender in Europe in 2012 were awarded to Dieffenbacher, and in total the company won 11 orders for continuous press plants. Dieffenbacher is also carrying out several larger-scale modernization and modification projects on wood-based panel plants, and the company recorded significant increases in orders for modifications, modernizations, spare parts and services in general. Although the product is still relatively new to the market, one additional pellet plant order in 2012 brought the total number of industrial pellet plants up to three. The two European contracts mark particularly important moments for Dieffenbacher. The company is supplying particle board plants to SwedspanMalacky, an IKEA Group company based in Slovakia, and to PfleidererNeumarkt in Germany. Both of these challenging projects require a high level of technical innovation; one special feature of the project at SwedspanMalacky is a forming station with a total of six spreading heads, allowing the company to produce a range of lightweight boards with up to 30% lower density. Solutions to reduce consumption—and therefore operating costs—are also a priority at Pfleiderer. "We decided to partner with Dieffenbacher because the company was best able to meet Pfleiderer's ecological requirements with respect to achieving savings on energy and materials in the future," said Michael Wolff, Chairman of the Executive Board at PfleidererHolzwerkstoffe. Dieffenbacher is an internationally active group of companies that develops and manufactures press systems and complete production systems for the wood panel industry, the automotive and components industries.
