The Europac Group has thus fulfilled a dual objective. Firstly, it has improved the service offered to its current customers by providing an additional food safety guarantee which distinguishes them from their competitors. Secondly, Europac has become a potential packaging supplier for companies in the agro-food sector, whose customers demand a guarantee of full traceability.
In this regard, Luis Serrano, Country Manager of Europac Packaging in Spain and Manager of the Dueñas packaging plant, stresses that "obtaining the BRC certification is another step in fulfilling our goal of providing added value through packaging to the businesses of our current customers as well as the customers of our customers. In addition, from a commercial point of view, we now have access to a portfolio of clients who demand this certification".
To adapt to the requirements of the standard, the Europac Group factory in Palencia invested a year of work developing a plan of action which was submitted for external audit, to ensure that the installation complied with the required criteria of quality, hygiene and safety.
