Mar 25, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. Gällö Timber invests SEK 10 million ($1.2 million) in a new control system for the saw line, in a new three dimension log measuring system and in a system for turning and optimizing the yield of every single log, as SCA Timber said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

“This investment gives us the technology for making the best possible use of the wood raw material”, says Urban Wiklund, president of Gällö Timber. “We will be able to get the highest possible value out of every single sawlog.”

Urban Wiklund took on the position of president of Gällö Timber on 1 March, 2015. He succeeded Johan Olofsson, who was appointed manager of SCA’s sawmill in Bollsta.

Gällö Timber is jointly owned by Persson Invest and SCA Timber and has since the start in 2010 invested more than SEK 60 million ($7 million) in the sawmill in Gällö and during the same time increased the production by 100%. Gällö Timber has a production capacity of 320,000 cubic metres of sawn timber of pine and spruce.
