Hadfield Wood Recyclers secures major waste wood contract

Sep 19, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. Hadfield Wood Recyclers has secured another one of the UK’s biggest waste wood contracts, for approximately 100,000 tonnes of wood over the next four years, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Following an in-depth tendering process with Veolia, Hadfields has secured access to waste wood arising at Essex recycling centres. The wood recycling company has been working with Veolia and the county council since 2008 and was asked to re-tender for this new contract.

The news comes hot-on-the-heels of Hadfields announcing a GBP 2 million ($3.3 million) investment in its facilities in Essex with the opening of a bigger site later this year.

Vicki Hughes, Group Business Development Director for Hadfield Wood Recyclers, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to continue to work with Veolia and Essex County Council.

“We have shown a commitment to Essex and expanded our existing facilities by moving to a bigger site, which we are due to officially open later this year. The new site will see us increasing our local work force over the next few years.

“Securing this contract with Veolia is the icing on the cake for us and means the residents of Essex know the waste wood they bring to the county council’s Recycling Centres for Household Waste is going to be reprocessed into products rather than sent to landfill.”

Hadfield Wood Recyclers is one of the UK’s biggest wood recycling companies with more than 30 years’ experience in the industry. It recycles waste wood into a number of different products including animal beddings, feedstock for panel board, equestrian surfaces and play areas, and biomass fuel.
