Holtec supplied a new log yard to Holzwerk Baumann in Germany. With the new log yard long logs up to 21 m length and with diameters of 10 to 90 cm as well as short logs up to 14 m length can be treated. The performance of the installation with an average diameter of 32 cm is quite more than 100 solid cubic meter/ h, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
It is quite unusual that all components of the plant after the feeding of the logs – from the butt reducer and the debarker to the cutting station – are installed in a hall because of environmental protection and noise control reasons. Holtec combined the used components together with the new material to a complete plant “from one cast”.
