Apr 06, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Howe Sound Pulp and Paper Limited Partnership (HSPP) announced that due to continued poor newsprint markets it will reduce its newsprint production by 7,500 tonnes. Paper mill to be shut down April 12 to 20, as the company informed Lesprom Network. HSPP operates a Kraft pulp and newsprint mill at Port Mellon, BC with an annual production capacity of 400 thousand tonnes of pulp and 230 thousand tonnes of newsprint. HSPP is equally owned by Vancouver based Canfor Corporation and Oji Paper Co. Ltd. of Tokyo.
