Sep 05, 2013. /Lesprom Network/. Imerys has recently received an offer from Omya for the acquisition of four industrial sites which beneficiate calcium carbonate for the paper market. These sites are located in Europe (Sainte-Croix de Mareuil in France, Köping in Sweden, Massa in Italy) and in the US (Kimberly) and represented a total revenue of approximately Euro 75 million in 2012, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Imerys and Omya have entered into exclusive negotiations to examine the feasibility of a mutually beneficial transaction, in particular with a view to ensure long-term supply and high-quality service for the customers. The process for the consultation of the relevant Imerys’ works councils on this project is also being initiated at the same time.

Pending results of this study, this project could be completed in the 1Q 2014.
