Oct 19, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Korsnäs have decided to increase capacity in sheeted materials by acquiring a further sheeting machine at its Frovi mill in Sweden. The investment, totalling SEK 30 million ($4.5 million), includes measures affecting existing equipment and premises as well as new machinery, company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. The capacity of the new machine is estimated to be 30,000 tonnes per year and it is expected to be brought on line and aligned during the autumn of 2011. “Carrying out sheeting adjacent to cartonboard production is favourable from the point of view of quality, since our positioning towards premium applications imposes increasing quality requirements on sheeted products,” explains Håkan Krantz, Mill Director at Korsnäs Frövi. Korsnäs is one of Sweden's leading forestry companies, with three production facilities: Gävle, Frövi and Rockhammar. Production capacity amounts to 1.1 million tonnes of cartonboard and paper annually, with integrated pulp production.
