Company operates a 603,000 square foot distribution facility in three buildings at 500 W. Park Lane, an industrial park off Big Bethel Road in Hampton. The firm also operates a distribution facility in Suffolk. The firm submitted a U.S. Worker Readjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice Monday - alerting state and local workforce officials about the 121 jobs being affected by the transfer.
A WARN letter is required of some companies to announce layoffs, depending on the number of jobs that are being affected. In a statement, company officials said workers were well aware of the transition from its Hampton facility to its new distribution hub being constructed in Sandston for over a year.
