Metso to deliver Ugra-plit particleboard producing machinery worth Euro 23 million

Ugra-plit, which plans to start particleboard production in Khanty-Mansijsk autonomous district of Russia has signed contract with Metso Panelboard for supply of machinery, press service of the governor of Khanty-Mansijsk autonomous district reported. The value of the deal is Euro 23.8 million. The contract was signed on August 10, 2007 in Khanty-Mansijsk by Ugra-plit CEO Andrey Galyaguin and Metso Panelboard president Pentti Välimäki. Besides delivery of machinery the contract includes commissioning work and specialists training. It was also concluded trilateral arrangement between Ugra-plit, Metso and German Siempelkamp Group. Under the terms of agreement, Siempelkamp will supply Ugra-plit chip dryer and continuous press as Metso subcontractor. Commenting on the agreement Mr. Välimäki said that the companies intend to cooperate further in the field of deliveries of equipment for production of OSB which will be used in house building. Ugra-plit CEO Galyaguin noted that due to equipment from Metso and Siempelkamp the company will start particleboard production already in 2009. Planned productive capacity of Ugra-plit is more than 150 000 cubic meters of particleboard per annum. Construction of facility is scheduled on September 2007 in Sovetsky city of Khanty-Mansijsk autonomous district.
