Norway's roundwood sales decreased by 9% from the 2Q 2016 to the 2Q 2017, while the average timber price rose by 8%. Forest owners obtained NOK 348 ($43.8) per cubic metre of timber; an increase of NOK 27 ($3.4), as Statistics Norway (Statistisk sentralbyra) reported.

A total of 2.7 million cubic metres of timber were cut for sale in the 2Q 2017. This is 9% less than the corresponding quarter of 2016. The aggregate gross value of roundwood sold to the manufacturing industry was NOK 922 million ($116 million) in the 2Q 2017; a decline of 2%.
