May 20, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. Ponsse's consolidated net sales for the 1Q 2015 amounted to Euro 91.2 million, which is 5% more than in the comparison period. International business operations accounted for 72.1% of net sales, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Net sales were regionally distributed as follows: Northern Europe 42.3%, Central and Southern Europe 18.7%, Russia and Asia 9.9%, North and South America 28.9%.

The operating result amounted to Euro 7.3 million. The operating result equalled 8% of net sales for the period under review. Consolidated return on capital employed (ROCE) stood at 21.2%.

Order intake for the period totalled Euro 112.4 million, while period-end order books were valued at Euro 175.1 million.

President and CEO Juho Nummela said: “Demand for PONSSE forest machines continued to be good during the 1Q. Our order books increased further to Euro 175.1 million. The order books grew by 68% compared with the comparable period.

“The forest machine market situation in North America continues to be good, and the market has continued its positive development in Europe. Russia's proportional amount of net sales has decreased slightly, but machine sales are still on almost normal level in Russia. In Latin America, the focus is on developing service operations and fulfilling the obligations of agreements made with major customers.

Ponsse's strong order book is a result from successful R&D solutions and investments. The order book has lengthened the delivery times of forest machines. We are increasing our factory capacity as planned and making sure that the quality and reliability of the final products are at a high level.”

Ponsse Plc is a company specialising in the sales, manufacture, servicing and technology of cut-to-length method forest machines.
