Russian Onezhsky Tractor Plant Exhibited Own Production in South America

Russian Onezhsky-manufactured tractors were a success among South-American businessmen during the 25th International Pacific fair carried out on November, 17 - 22 in the Peruvian capital of Lima. Companies from 16 countries worldwide exhibited their production on the anniversary fair. Russian sector where 30 companies exhibited their production was the most attractive one, visitors claim. Russian sector aroused visitors’ major interest, Onezhsky tractor plant representatives said. Preliminary talks were held between Russian and Peruvian, Ecuadorian, Argentine and Bolivian firms. Peruvian Business International S.A supplying vehicles and equipment to Peruvian timber mills issued an offer to purchase Onezhsky timber industry machinery for Peruvian mills in 2004-2005 after studying the price-lists and technical specifications. South-American enterprises experience a sharp demand for modern vehicles with cross-country ability for easier operation in mountain forests difficult of access. Russian machinery meets all the demands of local timber enterprises. Besides the prices were considered quite reasonable. The issue of the repairs and maintenance of purchased machinery will be resolved as soon as Onezhsky establishes a representative in South America. During the negotiations between Onezhsky tractor plant and Peruvian Torre Azul S.R.L. a protocol of intentions was signed defining the terms under which Torre Azul S.R.L. will become Onezhsky Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador official representative.
