Smurfit Kappa launches new selling concept – the S-flute

Oct 24, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. Smurfit Kappa is in the process of enhancing its supply in the Scandinavian corrugated market with the S-flute - a new proprietary concept that combines excellent printing properties with high strength, low weight and tangible environmental benefits, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network. The S-flute concept falls more-or-less between the existing corrugated grades B- and E-flute when it comes to strength and quality of printing. This new concept offers excellent printing possibilities with significantly less washboard effect than the B-flute, and better strength than the E-flute. Compared to the B-flute, the S-flute can give an increased fill factor of up to 25%. This means you can fit more sheets on a pallet, saving on transport costs and lowering CO2 emissions. In short, the S-flute is an innovation that is completely in line with Smurfit Kappa's goal of achieving sustainable development in everything we do. The S-flute is one of this year’s major corrugated innovations at Smurfit Kappa and will be on-show at the Scanpack fair in Gothenburg, Sweden from 23 to 26 October 2012.
