Nov 01, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. The Southern Forest Products Association’s Board of Directors reelected Digges Morgan as President and Tami Kessler as corporate secretary, SFPA said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. SFPA also elected a new slate of officers during its Annual Meeting in Savannah, Ga, USA. They are Chairman Joe Patton of Westervelt Lumber in Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Vice-Chairman Fritz Mason of Georgia-Pacific LLC in Atlanta; and Treasurer Tom Rice of Conner Industries in Fort Worth, Texas. Patrick Harrigan of Harrigan Lumber Co. in Monroeville, Ala., will serve as immediate past chairman. The officers assume their new roles immediately. “2011 will prove to be another challenging year in the forest products business,” Joe Patton said. “Adapting to change quickly and efficiently is a key element of the new norm. SFPA has always been a leader in this regard and I look forward to serving the organization and its members.” The Southern Forest Products Association was founded in 1915 as the Southern Pine Association. Today, SFPA is recognized as one of the foremost trade organizations in the forest products industry and represents Southern Pine lumber manufacturers from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
