Operating profit from continuing operations decreased by 17% to SEK 349 million ($43 million) in the 1Q 2016. Delivery volumes from own forests decreased by 2% and average prices fell by 3%. A comparison between the years must take into account the positive impact on last year’s earnings of SEK 36 million ($4.4 million) attributable to a value added tax case from the beginning of the 2000s.
Profit for the 1Q decreased by 20% to SEK 329 million ($40.6 million), compared to SEK 412 ($50.9 million) in the 1Q 2015.
Sveaskog is Sweden's largest forest owner and sells sawlogs, pulpwood and biofuel.
