Sveaskog’s 2Q net sales increased by 2%

Sveaskog’s 2Q 2017 net sales increased by 2% to SEK 1,702 million ($205 million). Total delivery volumes are unchanged compared with the 2Q last year but selling prices increased by an average of 2%. Sales of wood raw material totalled 2.8 million cubic metres, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

2Q 2017 operating profit from continuing operations increased by 15% to SEK 342 million ($41.3 million). The improved earnings are mainly explained by higher prices and a changed inventory mix as well as revenues relating to ecological compensation.

Profit for the 2Q increased by 21% and amounted to SEK 440 million ($53.1 million).

1H 2017 net sales increased by 5% to SEK 3,299 million ($398 million). Total delivery volumes increased by 2% compared with the corresponding period last year and selling prices increased by an average of 2%. Sales of wood raw material totalled 5.7 million cubic metres.

1H 2017 operating profit from continuing operations increased by 12% to SEK 725 million. The improved earnings are mainly explained by higher prices, higher delivery volumes and a changed inventory mix as well as revenues relating to ecological compensation.

Profit for January – 30 June 2017 increased by 12% and amounted to SEK 779 million ($87.6 million).
