Sveaskog’s 4Q net sales decreased by 6%

Feb 22, 2016. /Lesprom Network/. Sveaskog’s 4Q 2015 net sales decreased by 6% to SEK 1,546 million ($183 million). Total delivery volumes were 3% lower than in the same period last year and average selling prices were 2% lower. Sales of wood raw material totalled 2.8 million cubic metres, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

4Q 2015 operating profit from continuing operations decreased by 10% to SEK 362 million ($42.8 million), compared to SEK 402 million ($47.6 million) in 4Q 2014. Delivery volumes from own forests decreased by 4% while average prices were unchanged. Capital gains from development land were SEK 23 million ($2.7 million) lower than in the corresponding quarter in the previous year.

FY 2015 net sales decreased by 2% to SEK 6,078 million ($720 million). Sales volumes and timber prices were 1% lower on average. Sales of wood raw material totalled 10.7 million cubic metres.

FY 2015 operating profit from continuing operations increased by 2% to SEK 1,280 million ($151 million). Deliveries and prices from own forests were largely unchanged. Compared with the previous year, a larger proportion of deliveries were from stocks already recognised in earnings with an earnings impact of SEK 48 million ($5.7 million).

Sveaskog is Sweden's largest forest owner and sells sawlogs, pulpwood and biofuel.
