Sweden: Silviculture costs in large-scale forestry increased in 2014

Jul 08, 2015. /Lesprom Network/.  Costs for Sweden's silviculture in large-scale forestry increased in 2014 compared to the year before, as Swedish Forest Agency reported.

Costs for Sweden's logging in large-scale forestry were unchanged while costs for silviculture increased in 2014 compared to the year before.

Of all included costs, the costs in SEK/hectares for cleaning, scarification, sowing, pre-commercial thinning and forest fertilization and liming increased. Unit costs for maintenance and new investments in forest roads and also costs in SEK/hectare for planting and costs for beeting decreased.

In average logging costs for thinning and regeneration felling were unchanged in the entire country compared to 2013. In Southern Norrland however, the logging costs for regeneration felling and thinning increased while the logging costs for all cutting decreased in southern Sweden.
